About the event
The Whale: Art Installation to Raise Awareness About Water Pollution
Due to the amazing response from the public, The Whale made her come back this year. It is an art sculpture and lights installation designed to educate the public about the impact of human-caused water pollution on our natural world in an engaging manner.
Protecting Our Aquatic Ecosystems
Our docks are home to a diverse array of fish and birds, and it is our responsibility to protect them. The Whale installation aims to raise awareness about the dangers of water pollution, not just in the immediate vicinity of our docks but also on a larger scale.
Highlighting the Impact of Human Actions
The reckless disposal of chemicals, plastics, and other pollutants into our rivers and oceans has a devastating impact on marine life and the delicate balance of our ecosystems. Each action, no matter how insignificant it may seem, has a ripple effect throughout the natural world.
Commitment to Sustainable Practices
Upon the conclusion of the festival, we will ensure that all plastics used in The Whale installation are properly collected and disposed of at a designated recycling center. We are committed to minimizing our environmental footprint and promoting sustainable practices in all aspects of our work.
The Whale is more than just an art installation; it is a call to action, a reminder that our actions have consequences, and a plea for a more responsible and environmentally conscious approach to our interactions with the natural world.

How much does it cost to run fairy lights in a flat or a boat for a month? The cost of running fairy lights depends on their wattage and how long you keep them on. Generally, it's a relatively low cost. For a more accurate estimate, you can use an online electricity cost calculator: Festive Lights energy CALCULATOR "Modern Christmas lights use LEDs rather than filament bulbs which are less energy efficient, and even a fairly comprehensive outdoor Christmas lights display is likely to cost less than the cost of a burger and fries to power for an entire month.
